Let's go pyramid hunting

Step Pyramids at Saqqara first, then Giza. They are only 40 minutes apart, and Saqqara hits different when you see it before the main event, it is the trial run for everything the pharaohs built after. Give the whole day to this one, no power walking. Camel or horse across the plateau is the way to see it, and yes, this is the camel day.

A GEM kind of day

The Grand Egyptian Museum gets its own full day, and it will take it. Give it three hours minimum for the must-sees, the towering Ramses statue and the grand staircase alone will hold you. It can keep you a lot longer than that if you let it, so don't schedule anything after.

Khan el-Khalili, older than the tale of time

This bazaar has been standing since the 1300s, older than most countries. People come for the spices, the gold, the lanterns, the leather, and mint tea served slow enough that you stop checking the time. Go once in daylight and once after dark, they feel like two completely different places.
