Hyatt is running a 20 percent discount on bought points through October 5. Note this is a discount, not a bonus, so you are paying less per point rather than getting extra points. You need to buy at least 3,000 points, and you can buy up to 55,000 in a calendar year. That works out to about 2.08 cents each.
The honest part
Hyatt points are genuinely valuable, often the most valuable hotel currency there is, which is why 2.08 cents can still work out. But Hyatt best recent sales have been closer to 1.8 cents, so this is not their strongest offer. If you are not in a hurry, waiting is reasonable. If you have a specific Hyatt night in mind that costs a lot in cash, this can still save you real money.
